I. Visual Inspection
Check for Surface Rust
If rust appears on the surface of the hydraulic push rod, it may lead to a decline in sealing performance. Regularly check the surface of the push rod for rust, especially the piston rod part. If rust is found, it should be cleaned promptly. You can use fine sandpaper to gently polish the rusted area and then apply anti-rust oil to prevent further rusting.
Check Connection Parts
Inspect the bolts and nuts connecting the hydraulic push rod to the equipment for any looseness. Loose connections may cause unstable operation of the push rod or even damage the equipment. Regularly use a wrench to tighten the connecting bolts to ensure they are secure. At the same time, check for oil leakage at the connections. If oil leakage is found, it may indicate damaged seals, which need to be replaced promptly.
II. Hydraulic Oil Inspection
Oil Level Check
The oil level in the hydraulic push rod's oil tank or hydraulic system must be maintained within an appropriate range. Check the oil level before starting work each day to ensure it is between the upper and lower limits of the oil dipstick. If the oil level is too low, it may cause the hydraulic pump to run dry, affecting the normal operation of the push rod. If the oil level is too high, it may lead to hydraulic oil leakage. If the oil level is insufficient, promptly add hydraulic oil of the same type.
Oil Quality Check
The cleanliness and quality of hydraulic oil are crucial to the service life and performance of the hydraulic push rod. Regularly check the color, transparency, and odor of the hydraulic oil. If the oil turns black, becomes cloudy, or has an unusual smell, it may indicate that the oil has deteriorated. Deteriorated hydraulic oil increases friction within the hydraulic system, reduces lubrication effectiveness, and may even clog hydraulic components. It is generally recommended to replace the hydraulic oil every 3 to 6 months, with the specific replacement interval determined based on the equipment's usage frequency and working environment.
